The USLOA is sponsoring a campaign to enable Levern Spencer, Saint Lucia’s most accomplished track and field athlete, to represent St. Lucia at the Tokyo Olympics Games in Tokyo in August 2021.
The 2019 Annual Atlanta Jounen Kwéyòl (Creole Day) was a great success. The event was held at the Karibbean Konnection Cultural Center in Decatur, Georgia. Thanks to everyone who showed up despite the rainy weather. We would like to thank our amazing volunteers, we could not have pulled this event off without their help.
It was a celebration of St. Lucian creole culture. Attendees were treated with delicious creole dishes and local drinks. We were entertained with musical performances by our very own artists Yonashak from the Itasyon Band and Excite who was Atlanta Soca Monarch in 2017 and 2018. Also our Quadrille Dancers did a great performance and our DJs kept the crowd entertained. A special thank you to Lorena and Cheryl from Le Gomier Restaurant for giving us a cooking demonstration on how to make Pemme.
The kids were fully occupied with fun games and some were rewarded with prizes. The newly introduced Creole Outfit competition and the Country and Western competition were a huge success. Congratulations to the raffle winners who won a Fruit Basket and the 43 inch flat screen Smart TV. We can confidently say a good time was had by all. Thanks to our photographer Albert Kevin Dantes.
